Last night was one for the books, my friends. KMAC Couture is a wearable art runway show presented by KMAC Museum on the second Saturday each April. This event offers an incredibly unique way to experience the Museum by featuring and supporting emerging and established artists, costumers, designers, and milliners and the extraordinary presentation of original couture pieces of wearable art and conceptual fashion designs. With the start of a sketch and design proposal, we watch these designs come to fruition through use of innovative technique, design and materials.
The revenue from this event each year goes to support the educational and exhibition programming of the Museum throughout the year. It is the museums largest yearly fundraiser. Approximately 100,000 people benefit from KMAC’s programming each year, and on a personal note, I am proud to not only have helped plan in my role as a planning committee member, but also in my role as an installation artist. I was also lucky enough to have a team of talented photographers there taking photos to capture it all. Below are galleries from the cocktail hour, backstage, the runway and the afterparty. A big thanks to everyone who was in attendance.
