The camera is the least important element in photography.” -Julius Shulman
I have been a student of art for my entire life. The process of creating beautiful, detailed pieces has always been something that has driven and motivated me. As a child, I can recall staying up all night, working tirelessly to illustrate a scene from my imagination, write poetry, or learn to watercolor. I was always moved by creative process but remember shying away from photography, always assuming it was too mechanical for me.
That all changed when curiosity got the best of me and I purchased my first camera in an attempt to capture candid moments of my rapidly growing sons. I was instantly in love with the idea of capturing moments from my life, and my photographic education began. It was only a matter of time before I was taking images for others.
I have found over time that my style of photography is a reflection of the things that I hold dearest in my own life: candid moments, quirkiness, and substance. I focus on capturing elements and moments that are real and meaningful, and delivering a genuine narrative to those that view my work.
So, take a look around, drop me a line or find me on social media. I can't wait to help illustrate your story.
